Attorney Joseph Froetschel secures $2.7 Million verdict for a woman who was hit by a Port Authority bus

In the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, a jury awarded over $2.7 Million to a 59 year-old woman who lost her leg after being run over by a Port Authority bus. Attorney Joseph Froetschel argued the case on behalf of our client in front of Judge Arnold Klein. After a two day trial, a jury returned a verdict in the amount of $2,731,000 for her injuries, pain and suffering and lost wages.

New rule on discovery of attorney-expert relationship

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court recently adopted a change to Rule 4003.5 which explicitly prohibits discovery of communications between attorneys and their experts. The new change, which was triggered by the Barrick case which we handled, goes into effect on August 9th of this year.

John Gismondi secures $1.8 million for victim of failed diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome

John Gismondi of the Law Offices of Gismondi & Associates has secured more than $1.8 million for a man who claimed his emergency room physician from Forbes Regional Hospital failed to diagnose him with cauda equina syndrome, otherwise known as "horse's tail" syndrome. The trial was overseen by Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County Judge Michael A. Della Vecchia; docket # GD 12-17566, Allegheny County.

Landmark Dram Shop Verdict in Allegheny County

An Allegheny County jury this afternoon returned one of the largest civil verdicts in the history of Allegheny County in a case involving a drunk driver who was served alcohol at a local Elks club. The award of more than $28 million against the Elks Club Lodge No. 11 of Pittsburgh will grow to more than $30 million with interest.
